Roslyn Estates, NY Overview

The historic and picturesque village of Roslyn Estates is one of several villages and unincorporated communities in the Greater Roslyn area.  At the 2000 census the population was 1,210 and it has a total area of 0.4 square miles, all of which is land.  It was the desire of early residents to gain zoning control that drove the formation of Roslyn Estates and Roslyn Harbor in 1931.  Rosyln Estates began as a large-scale housing development along winding streets graced by ponds.
