Often called “Silicon Valley East” for the area's high-tech proliferation in recent years, Mount Laurel offers an abundance of housing in a variety of architectural styles, many of which are set along wide, tree-lined streets. The township is also known for its outstanding school system and well developed recreational amenities. Although Mount Laurel is home to a significant number of major corporate centers, it also provides easy access to Philadelphia, New York, and Trenton. The township offers nearly 20 parks that include PAWS Farm, an 18th-century refuge that shelters wild and domestic animals. Year-around recreation programs from tennis to aerobics complement nearby attractions like Green Acres Nature Park, vast acres of state parkland, playgrounds, athletic fields, tennis courts, swimming pools, and golf courses.
