About Troy
If you enjoy history, Troy, New York is a wonderful place to live. Nicknamed the 'Collar City' for its world famous shirt collars it produced in the late 1800 Troy is rich with history from America's past. Located along the banks of the Hudson River just north of Albany, the State capital, Troy is also home to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Founded in 1824, RPI is one of the finest Engineering colleges in the country. Many of the campus buildings have been renovated from older structures, preserving much of the architectural styles of the past. In fact, West Hall, a building mostly filled with lecture halls now, was once Troy Hospital.
