As a primarily residential community, Marlboro Township has experienced only limited industrial growth. Once a completely agricultural area, the township is still home to scattered farmland that preserves a picturesque and open quality as well as a rural flavor. In addition to older homes in quiet neighborhoods, large lots ranging from one-half to multi acres are available for new construction and horse properties. Local shopping facilities are available, although the scores of shops at Manalapan Mall are just four miles away. The township continues to develop in residential and commercial sectors, providing recreational amenities that include athletic fields, tennis courts, a public swimming pool, and private swim clubs.
